Stillpoint is a lay Zen community committed to making Zen practice truly accessible to the Pittsburgh community.  We offer introductions to zazen, a morning and evening sitting schedule, Sunday service, monthly day-long sittings, and occasional special events, including retreats led by visiting teachers.

Stillpoint will be open for the full zazenkai schedule on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.

Friday 11/22  8:30am-8:10pm
Saturday 11/23  8:30am-8:10pm

Come for the whole day or any portion thereof. 

Six sets each day consisting of: 
30 minutes zazen 
10 minutes kinhin 
30 minutes zazen 

Sets start at: 8:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, and 7:00pm

Rohatsu Sitting - December 2 through December 6, 2019

Rohatsu literally means "the 8th day of the 12th month", and is the day commemorating the anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi, the unsurpassed complete awakeningof Shakyamuni Buddha. Stillpoint will be open in the afternoons all week to celebrate, and all night Friday night into Saturday morning, the morning of Rohatsu.

Here is the practice schedule. All are welcome to come join us for any portion of the schedule.

Tuesday      12/3  1:30pm-8:10pm
Wednesday 12/4  1:30pm-8:10pm   Koan discussion follows final zazen period
Thursday     12/5  1:30pm-8:10pm   Boundless Way Zen practice starts with zazen at 7pm
